Looking for a Network Monitoring Engineer to monitor and maintain complex network systems to in Springfield VA.

What you'll do:

Lead analysis and troubleshooting of escalated issues by applying advanced network and application troubleshooting techniques using WireShark, Packet Analyzer Plus, Transaction Analyzer Plus, NetProfiler, NetScout and other techniques

Streamline operations through the creation of custom tools, automate scripts and other means

Standardize and optimize enterprise-level network performance monitoring policies and operational best practices

Build cooperative relationships between infrastructure, application and security teams with a focus on optimizing performance, and minimizing disruptions

Deploy and operate industry-leading Network Performance Monitoring, Planning and Configuration Management solutions

What you'll bring:

Active DOD Top Secret.

At least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems (MIS)

8+ years' experience in IT with a focus on network performance analysis, capacity planning, and advanced troubleshooting

Robust OSI Layer 3-7 knowledge, especially with HTTP, HTTPS and Microsoft protocols

Hands-on experience engaging clientele in consulting-related environments

Advanced experience with WireShark and other open-source analysis tools

Hands-on experience with Riverbed SteelCentral or related technologies

Hands-on experience with NetScout Infinistreams and nGenius

Hands-on experience with Packet Brokers, such as Gigamon or Ixia

An aptitude for technical writing, including assessment reports, presentations, and operating procedures

Strong understanding of ITSM best practices

- Experience developing automation scripts and doing data analysis with Python

Bonus points:

Riverbed RCSA-NPM, RCSA-NPCM, RCSA-APM or respective RCSP certification

NetScout nGeniusONE for Enterprise, Level 3 Certified Expert (code: nG1-Admin - nGeniusONE for Administrators)

WCNA, ITIL, PMP certifications

Familiarity with Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) framework, Business Process Management Notation (BPMN) and Universal Markup Language (UML)

Ability to think creatively and desire to solve complex problems
